• Weare Giffard Recreation Ground - It’s your Park!

The ‘Park Committee’ welcome feedback; good or otherwise! As a small group of elected volunteers, entrusted by the charity (Weare Giffard Recreation Ground Association No.900020), we endeavour to keep the playground, recreation and orchard areas safe and well maintained for all to enjoy.

Unsurprisingly, this is costly! Be it maintenance of expensive machinery or repair and replacement of play apparatus. This apparatus, available to all to enjoy all year round, is as a consequence exposed to all ‘elements’; flooding, rain and drought! An annual safety inspection report by RoSPA provides reference to appropriate standards and guidance. Monitoring by members of the Committee, at intervals throughout the year, prompts repairs when necessary. That said: should concerns or indeed hazards arise relating to any of the play equipment or the wider recreation area – please contact me directly; ChairWGPark@icloud.com. Likewise, if you would like to volunteer, donate to or support the Park in anyway, I will be pleased to hear from you. After all, the Park has been generously gifted to you to enjoy!
